Inside the Deli
Lucca Deli is tucked in the bottom floor of a 1920’s three story-apartment building in what use to be the garage!
Our little deli is filled to the brim with every imaginable Italian specialty grocery item. An impressive selection of Imported Italian wines greet you as you walk inside our constantly crowded space.
Salame, coppa, prosciutto hang from the ceiling above the deli case that runs from the front of the deli to the back. The top of the case is crammed with our ever changing display of grissini, paneforte, cookies, candies, and those special items that are new or we can’t resist showing off.
The deli case itself is beautifully displayed. Our cold cuts and cheeses are fresh and bountiful. Our salads – freshly prepared in our kitchen – are decorated and garnished to be irresistible. The chickens are plump and heaped with their roasted vegetables. The fritatta tempts you on its raised platter…the antipasti selection awaits.
Toward the back of our store you’ll find our cheese display. It’s truly one of a kind. In a decades old wooded rack lay wheels of Rocca Reggiano Parmigiano, Locatelli Pecorino Romano, and Dry Jack. Huge balls of Caciocavallo hang next to strings of Cacciatore and Crespone.
On the marble board below we display over 50 varieties of imported and domestic cheeses. We never cut and wrap our cheeses in advance – letting you taste the cheese and then show us how much you would like. We are happy to help you design the perfect cheese assortment!
A little farther back is a surprisingly large kitchen for such a small shop, Our three full-time chefs are busy roasting chickens, turkeys, roast beef and hams, rolling out pasta and ravioli by hand, simmering stock for our minestrone and prepping, prepping, prepping.
Behind the deli counter our friendly and experienced staff will greet you – often by name. We take pride in our personal service, attention to detail, presentation, patience and great attitude…providing truly “old-world” service.
